Salah, Jota score late as Reds end Spurs' hopes
Liverpool came from behind to beat Tottenham 4-3 in a thrilling Champions League match at Anfield on Sunday. Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino scored for the Reds, while Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg netted for Spurs.
Liverpool started the match brightly and took the lead in the 11th minute when Salah fired home from close range. Jota doubled the Reds' advantage in the 21st minute with a header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross. Firmino then made it 3-0 in the 34th minute with a clinical finish from inside the box.
However, Spurs fought back in the second half and pulled a goal back in the 56th minute when Son scored from close range. Kane then reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the 66th minute with a penalty. And Hojbjerg completed the comeback in the 74th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box.
But Liverpool refused to give up and Jota scored the winner in the 90th minute with a header from a Salah cross. The result means that Liverpool have progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League, while Tottenham's hopes of winning the competition are over.
