Chad Kelly Suspended by Canadian Football League

Former Denver Broncos Draft Pick Suspended for Nine Games

Former Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly has been suspended for at least nine games by the Canadian Football League (CFL), according to a statement released by the league on Monday. The suspension is related to an incident that occurred during Sunday night's game against the Montreal Alouettes.

Kelly's Suspension

The CFL announced that Kelly is suspended for "violating the league's substance-abuse policy." The nine-game suspension is the minimum penalty for a first-time violation of the policy. Kelly will be eligible to return to the field on July 27th.

Kelly's Career

Chad Kelly is the nephew of NFL legend Jim Kelly and a former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft but was released in 2018. Kelly joined the Toronto Argonauts in 2022.
